The Red Book Speculation
In the Red Book Jung is playing with meanings. He wanted to leave words and concentrate on, what Pierce called, Rhemas. Rhemas are feelings, they are signs that have an object, but the object is indeterminate. Consider music. Everyone has different interpretions when they listen to music. If the musician had a specific point when writing a song other people will have different interpretations. Musical signs create, or cause different signs in different people. That’s true but so do all words. But it’s easier to put various meanings into music. In Jung’s Red Book, according to this lecture I’m listening to, Jung is playing with meanings. Finding meanings from feelings and putting them into words. A sensation, a feeling from a reflection, is put into the word demon. Demon is a metaphor for a feeling. But the word demon comes from Greek and means a form of the god (I think). It’s possible that Jung was “Signify-ing” in a way. Replacing words to other words in a way thst forces one to search for meaning. Because every words has multiple meanings in different contexts. But if that is the case (I don't know, I'm speculating) then the same people that Jung said were responsible for destroying American culture (Black Americans) were doing the same intellectual activity that he was doing.
